Dear Consumers, thank you for visiting our site. Please note that most problems relating to the NAI Opt Out can be resolved by reading the following information:
ABOUT THE OPT OUT
The Opt Out can NOT:
- Stop email SPAM or otherwise remove you from email marketing lists;
- Stop you from seeing ads altogether;
- Block cookies from being set on your computer; or
- Remove personal information about you from any databases.
The NAI Opt Outs determine ONLY whether or not you will see online ads that are tailored to your
interests. We cannot opt you out on your behalf. Please note that the opt outs work only through
the web because they are not tied to personal information like a name or an email address. Instead,
they are associated with a particular web browser profile, and use browser cookies to store your
choices. As such, you must perform the opt out function from each computer, and each web browser,
that you may use. Alternately, in some cases where you have an account with an NAI member (such as
Yahoo!, Google, etc...), and that member stores your opt out choice in your 'logged-in' profile, you
must opt out through the web while logged into your profile.
THE MOST COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Problem: Third party cookies are blocked by your web browser.
Solution: Access your browser preferences and verify that your browser is not set to block third party cookies. Please note that the Safari web browser is configured by default to block third-party cookies, so all Safari users must disable this function manually.
Problem: Some privacy and security programs restrict the use of third-party cookies, and block both online advertising-related and opt out cookies.
Solution: Access the settings on any privacy and security programs you may have installed on your computer and verify that they are not configured to block third party cookies.
Problem: Intermittent network problems can cause problems with internet communications.
Solution: Please wait a few hours, and then try again.
